From the Shelves of Walfood Supermarket in NY: Rethinking He Lu Fang’s Heritage Packaging
Today, He Lu Fang Camellia Oil officially landed on the shelves of Walfood Supermarket in New York. Seeing our golden mountain oil standing proudly in an American supermarket was a deeply moving moment for us.

Not long ago, a well-meaning friend looked at our packaging and asked candidly: "Does this design look 'too Chinese'? Will it seem a bit too traditional or unpolished for the U.S. market?"
I smiled and shook my head.
If we had blindly followed westernized, industrial minimalism, we might have easily blended into the background. But China is the sole, historic origin of the wild camellia oil tree. If you Google the origin of camellia oil, only one answer appears: China.
1. The Weight of Heritage: Not "Outdated," but Ancestral Honor
The inspiration for He Lu Fang’s packaging comes directly from the pristine mountain soil that birthed it.
The rich forest green mirrors the lush, high-altitude wild canopy of the Lu Mountain region. The vintage cream-toned box illustrates blooming camellia flowers, ripening fruits, and the centuries-old memory of our ancestor presenting this liquid gold as a royal tribute during the Ming Dynasty.
This is not an outdated aesthetic—it is six centuries of Eastern heritage, traditional craftsmanship, and cultural confidence. It comes from the earth, carrying the warmth of nature and the devotion of mountain artisans. On an international shelf, this distinct cultural identity is our greatest strength.
2. He lu fang's Visual Identity on the Shelf: Showcasing Eastern Liquid Gold
On international supermarket shelves, we have zero desire to disguise ourselves as just another western cooking oil.
What we present to the world is an authentic, time-honored holistic wellness ritual from the East. The elegant bottle, the classic gift box with rope handles, and the iconic Chinese calligraphy all proudly declare: This is a pristine superfat forged by centuries of Eastern agricultural wisdom.
True authenticity transcends borders. When customers pause in the aisle, they see far more than just an oil with a 485°F smoke point and rich squalene—they discover a piece of timeless Eastern heritage.
3. Looking Ahead: USDA Organic Certification On the Way
We are also thrilled to share a milestone: He Lu Fang has successfully passed the field audit stage for the USDA Organic Certification! We are currently awaiting the final issuance of the official certificate.
Once the certificate arrives, our upcoming batch of packaging will proudly feature the green USDA Organic seal.
Rest assured, our core design and cultural heritage artwork will remain unchanged. We will forever preserve the forest-green elegance and historic spirit of our brand—bringing the untouched warmth of our wild mountain home to dinner tables across the world.
